U.S. Army Florence Recruiting Company is proud to announce that
Myrtle Beach
’s Blake Holt has been
voted Army STRONG Wrestler of the Year in
South Carolina
.
Holt won the 135-pound state championship in the Class 3A State
Tournament, beating Eastside’s Gage Govero, 2-0, for the title.
Holt also won the Class 3A
Lower
State
title at 135 pounds.
More than 15,000 fans voted during the campaign, selecting Holt as the
first-ever Army STRONG Wrestler of the Year for
South Carolina
.
Each
week, wrestling competitors must demonstrate physical and emotional strength, as
well as strength of character. The
Army STRONG Wrestler of the Year embodies the qualities of Army STRONG.
Throughout
the season, fans voted for the Army STRONG Wrestler of the Week.
Each weekly winner was a finalist for the Army STRONG Wrestler of the
Year, which was determined again by a fan vote online at www.TheSportsFlash.com.
