Bay City’s Derek Brown voted 2011 Marine Corps Elite Warrior of the Year for Houston

Marine Corps Elite Warrior of the Week campaign honors the state’s best football players

 

HOUSTON, TEXAS – The Marine Corps Recruiting Station Houston is proud to announce that Bay City’s Derek Brown has been voted the Marine Corps Elite Warrior of the Year for Houston.  Fans from across the state voted for Brown as the best high school football player in Houston.  Brown has 2,494 all-purpose yards with 20 touchdowns, throwing for 1,500 yards with 11 scores, rushing for 692 yards with seven touchdowns, and making 12 catches for 302 yards with two scores.

 

The Marine Corps Elite Warrior of the Year honored the best high school football players in the state.  Throughout the season, high school football fans from across the state selected the finalists for the honor.
