S.C. “No Spit” All-Star of the Year

Dobbins is the state’s best player who has pledged not to use spit tobacco  

COLUMBIA , SC – The South Carolina Tobacco Quitline is proud to announce that Berea ’s Rob Dobbins is the first-ever South Carolina “No Spit” All-Star of the Year as the best high school baseball player in the state who has pledged not to use spit tobacco.  Dobbins is an All-Region short stop and a North-South All-Star who has committed to play at North Greenville University .  Dobbins hit .424 this season with six home runs and 28 runs batted in, helping lead the Bulldogs to their first playoff appearance in five years.  

Representatives of TSF Radio Network & the South Carolina DHEC will present Dobbins with a trophy in recognition of being named the first-ever South Carolina “No Spit” All-Star of the Year.  The details of the presentation ceremony are to be determined, and will be announced at a later date.  

Each South Carolina “No Spit” All-Star nominee had pledged not to use spit tobacco – on or off the field!  Spit tobacco contains more than 28 cancer-causing agents that are present in cigarettes, cigars, smoke, and all forms of smokeless tobacco, including spit, snuff, and chew.  During the campaign, more than 6,500 fans cast their vote for the S.C. “No Spit” All-Stars campaign at www.TheSportsFlash.com.
