Pikesville ’s Shawn Markow voted Army Iron Man

Army Iron Man honors best two-way high school football players in Maryland  

BALTIMORE , MD The U.S. Army Baltimore Recruiting Battalion is proud to announce that Pikesville ’s Shawn Markow is the Army Iron Man of the Year as the best two-way high school football player in the battalion’s Maryland recruiting territory.  More than 34,500 high school football fans voted for the Army Iron Man of the Year, with Markow receiving 14,505 total voters to earn the honor.  

Markow earned the week six Army Iron Man of the Week honor after making two catches for 33 yards and a touchdown while making four tackles on defense with three pass break ups, one interception, and one fumble recovery (86 yards on the return) in Pikesville’s 26-15 win over Loch Raven.  Playing and excelling on both offense and defense, the Army Iron Man must demonstrate physical and emotional strength, as well as strength of character.  The Army Iron Man of the Year, Pikesville ’s Shawn Markow, embodies the qualities of Army STRONG.
